Australian Open 2009

From January 19 to February 1, one of the four Tennis Grand Slam Events will be held.
The famous Grand Slam of the Asia/Pacific- the Australian Open 2009/

The Grand Slam is held at Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Australia. The challenge for the players... the extreme summer heat that they will feel while playing on open courts.

Top seed Rafael Nadal of Spain will play on the event. Will he win his first Australian Grand Slam? We will see. He is the new rising star in tennis! The first Spanish to be named the Number 1 Player at the end of the Year. And mind you, he's very funny during interviews and he has this funny accent that he carries when he talks. And hell, girls do ga-ga when they see him play.

Second seeder (and former World Number 1) Roger Federer of Switzerland rises again to capture his throne as the "King" of Tennis. Losing last year's Australian Open to Novac Djokovic in the Semi-finals, he states that he will capture this one again. Roger Federer won the 2004, 2006 and 2007 Australian Open.

Will the third seeder, Novac Djokovic of Serbia capture this Grand Slam Again? Or will the rising Scottish player Andy Murray top his game in this tournament? Or maybe the USA's Andy Roddick will reclaim his name once again?

---------------

For the Women's Singles, will both the Williams Sisters soar high in this event? Both sisters are seeded in the same half which means that there will be no possibility that Williams vs Williams in the Finals.

Can the Top Seeder, Jelena Jancovic of Serbia capture her first Australian Grand Slam? Will she face Second seeder Serena Williams in the finals. I bet this will be a hot match.

Other top seeds are Dinara Safina of Russia. Elena Dementieva of Russia, and Ana Ivanovic of Serbia are also the fan favorites.

--------------

Maria Sharapova, last year's winner, will not participate this year stating that she is not fit to play in the tournament.
Lindsay Davenport also withdrew from the tournament when she found out that she is pregnant with her second child.
Na Li and Nicolas Kiefer also with drewfrom the tournament.
Nikolay Davydenko and Katarina Srebotnik, both still injured will not participate in this tournament.
